Hunter Hoffman

Background: Hunter recently completed his first round of radiation and is awaiting further tests and results, with chemotherapy likely to follow. A recent scan revealed two new spots on his brain, though it’s still unclear whether these are tumors or effects of the radiation. An official report is expected soon, and important decisions will follow. Hunter and Marci deeply appreciate your continued prayers and support as they face these uncertain next steps.

Continue praying for strength and wisdom for the family as they face what’s ahead.

Ez is living with Parkinson’s disease and has suffered a few strokes, while Leanna is undergoing treatment for leukemia, and her prognosis remains uncertain. Please keep the family in your prayers as they navigate this difficult and trying season.

He’s been in severe pain and went home to rest, but returned to the ER on Tuesday, where they found he had developed pneumonia. He was moved to Restoracy of Goshen Rehab last week.

Caden Miller

Shelly & Sean McCrindle

2/6/2025: Sean & Shelly McCrindle experienced a house fire on 1/22/25.  Everyone is o.k. and they are deeply thankful for that. Continue praying for the family as they work with insurance and find a new normal. The meal train is currently full, but gift cards for restaurants and groceries are other ways we can help ease the burden they are feeling.

Caleb Gunawan

12-11-2024: Caleb is back to normal and doing well. A correction from last week’s note is that his type of cancer is not considered brain cancer, but neuroblastoma.

You can read more about his journey by clicking the link below!

Caring Bridge

12-5-2024: On Sunday, December 1, Caleb (son to Martin and Chika, pictured center) experienced a seizure. Caleb is in remission for a rare form of brain cancer. There was concern about his previous cancer diagnosis, so for precaution, he was taken to Memorial Hospital for further testing. The Dr’s at Memorial have communicated with his cancer treatment team and agreed it didn’t seem like a sign of the cancer being back. They are still unsure of what caused the seizure, but there is a plan if future seizures occur.

Pray for peace and rest for the family as they manage these unanswered concerns and pray that this was his first and last seizure.

Ernie Slabach

12-5-2024: Ernie had a neurologist appointment today. We are awaiting more information from the results of that appointment.

11-27-2024: Ernie is still having cognitive and balance issues, so they are managing these difficulties until his appointment with the neurologist in December. Be praying for patience as they wait and healing!

Roy Renfro history

12-19-24: Pray for strength and resilience for Roy as he endures chemo treatments. Pray that God would sustain his body, provide relief from the physical toll of the chemotherapy, and give him moments of rest and peace. Also, lift up Roy and Lisa’s spirits, as this journey can be emotionally and mentally exhausting, and they need God's presence to bring comfort and hope in the midst of it all.

BACKGROUND - In March (2021) Roy was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer. He has been receiving treatment since early April (2021). In July (2022) Roy underwent scans and it was found that the spots on his lungs have responded well to treatment however, the spot on his brain has doubled in size. He is currently receiving chemotherapy.

11-5-2024: Roy was placed back on Chemo this week. His doctors didn’t feel he could take the full 10 weeks off. Keep Roy and Lisa in your prayers as they begin this journey again.

10-31-24:  Continue to pray for Roy & Lisa!  Keep praying for God’s strength and endurance through this treatment

10-24-24: Roy found out that his lungs are doing well in response to the Chemo and they are pausing the chemo for 10 weeks.  This is a bit of good news and will likely lead to him feeling better.  He will continue with the radiation on his brain.  Thank you for your continued prayers for Roy & Lisa!

Brad and Tina Whitehead- Granddaughter Natalie

10-29-24 Update: Natalie’s results have come back from her tests. Once again, the findings are unexplainable. It’s believed that Jesus has healed her esophagus! However, the doctors are continuing to explore all possibilities and will conduct a test to check if there’s an issue with her brain's communication, similar to what occurred with her stomach's digestion.

The family is incredibly thankful and continues to praise the Lord for His miraculous work in her life. All glory is given to Jesus for her healing! They appreciate everyone’s ongoing support and prayers during this time.

10-15-24: Natalie is home from the hospital and her hemoglobin is up to a 12! Her scope and biopsies have been moved to Tuesday, October 22. Please continue in prayer for her and her family as they move forward with treatment and testing.

10-3-24: Brad and Tina’s 12-year-old granddaughter, Natalie (pictured on the far left) is facing multiple health challenges. She is currently receiving care at Riley’s Children’s Hospital, dealing with an esophagus issue called dysmotility. The doctors will be performing biopsies to check for tumors and to develop a treatment plan. In addition to this, she has a blood disorder and other gastrointestinal issues.

Please keep Natalie, her parents Jennifer and Herbert, and the rest of the family in your prayers as they wait for answers.

Wayne Beachy

12-5-2024: Wayne is settling in at home and adapting to the changes in ability and his care needs. Pray for guidance and patience as they all are adjusting to their new normal.

11-28-2024: Wayne is headed home from rehabilitation today! Praise God for having His hand in this process and continue to pray for Wayne’s healing as he transitions back home.

10-17-24: Wayne is steadily making progress in his physical therapy at the Maples. While the duration of his stay remains uncertain, we ask for prayers for ongoing strength and resilience for both Wayne and Emma as they navigate this time together.

10-10-24: Wayne Beachy had a difficult fall last week and is currently at the nursing center rehab at Waterford Crossing. Thankfully he did not suffer any broken bones from the fall; however, his coordination, balance, short-term memory, and strength have been somewhat affected by his stroke and seizure. Please pray for his quick recovery and healing during this time.

Ruby Bontrager

10-3-24: Ruby experienced intense leg pain last Friday. She has been undergoing therapy at Greencroft to aid her recovery, with hopes of being released in a few weeks. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers for relief from her pain.

Rhoda Mininger

10-3-24: Rhoda worked hard in rehab therapy and was discharged on September 27. Though she's now home, she faces new challenges—like needing assistance with certain tasks, including her bathroom routine—since her legs must remain elevated straight in front of her.
Pray for Ken & Rhoda as they manage this new set of challenges and for quick healing of her leg!

9-10-24 BACKGROUND - While in her garden, Rhoda fell and broke her leg. She used the wrong technique in her wheelchair to reach for a watering can, which caused her to lose balance. Though she managed to control the fall, she still broke her left femur just above the knee.
Because she doesn’t feel pain in much of her body, her system reacted with sweating and shaking, signaling that there may be a problem. In the hospital, she also experienced blood pressure and oxygen fluctuations, likely due to the pain. Thankfully, she didn’t sustain any further injuries, especially to her upper body or head. She was moved to Greencroft for rehab therapy.

Hunter Hoffman

2/6/2025: Hunter started radiation treatment last week. Please keep Hunter and Marci in your prayers as they rely on God's faithfulness for strength and direction during this new phase. Pray for balance in their lives as they navigate both work and cancer treatments!

Background: On December 30th, Hunter underwent brain surgery to remove a brain tumor. The surgery was successful, but his diagnosis was Grade 4 Glioblastoma.

12/31/2024- Thank you for praying for Hunter, Marci and their families. They are all very grateful and are feeling the impact of your prayers.

Hunter’s surgery was successful in removing the tumor! He was responsive, verbal and even had a strong sense of humor after waking up last night. He will likely be released from the hospital today.

Unfortunately, they received the difficult news that his diagnosis is Grade 4 Glioblastoma. Continue praying for the Hoffman’s and their family as Hunter faces chemo and radiation. They are hopeful God will heal Hunter and would appreciate the continued prayers as they begin this tough journey with cancer.

12/27/2024- Hunter and Marci met with Hunter’s neurosurgeon yesterday and received some tough news. The tumor that originally appeared to be small and benign in his brain is growing rapidly. While they won’t know anything for certain until the tumor is biopsied, it currently appears to be a high-grade glioma, most likely grade 3 or 4, which is a fast-growing, cancerous brain tumor. Due to its aggressive nature, Hunter is scheduled to undergo brain surgery on Monday to remove as much of the tumor as possible. If the biopsy confirms the anticipated diagnosis, he will require several months of chemotherapy and radiation thereafter.

They are trusting that God is in control of the situation and are seeing signs of His presence throughout this process. They are very grateful to be working with Hunter’s neurosurgeon and feel confident that Hunter is in good hands during the surgery.

Join us in praying for Hunter and Marci, that they may experience peace and assurance, knowing that God is ahead of them in this journey. Additionally, pray for wisdom for Hunter’s neurosurgeon and medical team.

10-10-24 UPDATE: Hunter was discharged last Thursday, as his episodes have ceased due to the medication. He is still experiencing some difficulty with writing and forming texts. Follow-up monitoring and an MRI with mapping are scheduled in the next month or two to gather important information about his brain in case surgery is needed to remove the mass. We thank God for His provision and for how far Hunter has come in just a week! Please keep Hunter in your prayers for continued healing and strength.

10-3-24: Hunter is responding well to medication and experiencing fewer seizures. If his seizures can be managed with medication, surgery may be avoided. The doctors are carefully considering the best treatment options, aiming to avoid surgery due to its risks. If he continues to improve, he may be released from the hospital soon. Pray for wisdom for the medical staff, complete healing for Hunter, and strength and encouragement for him, Marci, and their families during this challenging time.

10-1-24 Background - Hunter Hoffman was taken to Parkview Hospital after he started having seizures on Sunday. An MRI showed a small benign tumor in the left side of his brain. They will be consulting with a neurosurgeon today to determine next steps.

Please be in prayer for Hunter, his wife Marci (Miller) and their families. Specifically, prayers for guidance as they make decisions and peace and protection for Hunter if/when he goes into surgery. Be praying for wisdom for the doctors and surgeons and that they would be able to completely remove the tumor to prevent any regrowth in the future.
